Northern Illinois Sports Beat Story Archive
|
The process of archiving stories written by NISB writers has been a tough one to juggle.
We attempt to save files of stories written for the web site, but sometimes they have
disappeared. A virus destroyed most archived stories written between the first story in
August 2004 to Summer 2007, and very few survive in our records. The move from
GeoCities to our own domain claimed stories from Summer 2007 to Spring 2009, but
these all survive in our records.
**FOR ALL STORIES WRITTEN AFTER SUMMER 2009, CLICK HERE (once there are
stories to archive)
Stories from Summer 2009 forward will be entirely available on the Internet unless the
service for this website discontinues (just like GeoCities's shutdown in 2009).
**Click HERE to go to the complete listing of stories written for Northern Illinois Sports Beat
UP UNTIL Summer 2009. This is considered the "Classic" Archive.
If you have a copy of a story that we have considered "lost" please let us know.
How Can I View A Story in
the "Classic" Archive?
Stories in the Classic Archive are listed
with the title of the story and the
team(s) involved.
Perhaps you, or someone you know,
were in a story.
You can search the archive by
"contacting us" (link above and to the
left) and asking if we have a story on
someone or a certain team or school.
You'll get a "yes" or "no" reply back.
The Story Archive is a Donation
service, meaning in order to view a
story in the archive, there is a $2 fee.
The story will be sent to you via e-mail
in a word processor format after your
payment has been received. From that
point on, you can distribute it as you
please.
In order to have the story available in a
website format, please see the
description to the right.
Reconstructed in Internet
Form?
Stories that are available in the Classic
Archive are ones that one cannot find
on the Internet.
If you want to view a story, please see
the description to the left.
BUT - If you have a story in mind that
you would like seen on the Internet,
there's a possibility.
For $5, you can view one of our
archived stories on the Internet. It will
look like a present story on the site
(complete with navigation bar, site logo
and watermarks) Mainly, one would
request this if they want a story that
"looks" authentic.
For more information, please "contact
us" (link above and to the left).
